We are improving our local woodlands so they are both more hospitable for wildlife and a better source of fuel for people.
Good woods are great. Wildlife thrives in them, people enjoy visiting them and they produce valuable woodland products. Many woods in the Churnet Valley had been neglected but we are turning that around.
Our volunteer teams have cleared out rhododendrons and conifer trees to let more light into the woods so woodland flowers and insects can thrive. We have opened rides and glades where birds and bats will feed.
Our healthy woods produce wood fuel. Have a look at this list to see where you can get some.
