We are improving our local woodlands so they are more hospitable for wildlife.
Good woods are great. Wildlife thrives in them, people enjoy visiting them and they produce valuable woodland products. Many woods in the Churnet Valley had been neglected but we are turning that around.
Our volunteer teams have cleared out rhododendrons and conifer trees to let more light into the woods so woodland flowers and insects can thrive. We have opened rides and glades where birds and bats will feed.
